The Allen-Bradley 2711-K10G3 user-controlled electronic terminal can be used for a massive variety of industrial applications. This device is highly robust and improves the efficacy of the control system. The degree of interaction between the panel and the components that constitute the rest of the system can be determined based on the context of the industrial application. A versatile keypad enables the user to enter a variety of numerical characters into the system as a source of input. The device has a total application flash memory of 1008 kilobytes and can be temporarily used to save files generated by the control system. In order to accentuate the storage capabilities of the terminal package, an additional external memory card can also be used. The memory card improves the storage capability of the operator panel and can be used to save and transfer files. The 2711-K10G3 is housed in a NEMA Type 12/13 Enclosure that is designed to ensure adequate space for ventilation and ease of maintenance. Clearances are provided within the enclosure to facilitate the mounting and assembly of components within the enclosure. A memory card slot is provided to house the memory card and a back clearance must be provided within the enclosure to ensure that the memory card is accessible to the user. The device can communicate with machine components over a configured DH-485 network. Status indicators are provided with the terminal package to facilitate troubleshooting. The COMM status indicator is used to indicate successful active communication and uses a flashing green light. A fault indicator is used to highlight issues with the communication network and uses a blinking red light.
