Part number 25-COMM-E2P is the dual-port Ethernet /IP adapter that was designed and manufactured by Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation. This device is a communication option that is used in the PowerFlex 520 series of the drive. It facilitates the option of multi-drive mode in the network. This adapter has two (2) RJ-45 ports, which include an ENET1 network port and an ENET2 network port. It offers the following data rates: 10 megabits per second for full duplex, 10 megabits per second for half duplex, 100 megabits per second for full duplex, and 100 megabits per second for half duplex. It has a connection limit of 30 TCP connections. It allows 16 CIP connections simultaneously for messaging, plus 1 exclusive connection: the owner I/O connection. The minimum request packet interval time offered by this adapter is 2 milliseconds. It offers 1000 total input/output packets per second, i.e. 500 packets going in and 500 packets going within one second.
This device has a 40-pin communication card header that allows this device to be attached to the drive. It has switches that allow the operator the set the address of network nodes before powering up the adapter. It comes with four (4) LED (light emitting diode) status indicators. These indicators report the status of the adapter, network, and connected drive. It also includes CS1 /CS2 terminals that furnish bus cable shields for communication with the clean ground. It draws 250 milliamperes of current from the host drive. It needs a supply voltage of 14 volts DC (direct current). It weighs around 44 grams.
