The Allen-Bradley PowerFlex® 400 series adjustable frequency AC drive is ideally used for fan and pump applications. Its voltage rating is 480 Volts AC with three phases and ampere rating 17.5 Amps and power rating of 3.7 kW (5.0 hp) on C frame. The panel mount enclosure has IP20 and NEMA/UL ratings. The drive has a fixed keypad for interface and RS485 port. The approximate dimensions of the unit are 130.0 x 320.0 x 180.0 millimeters (5.1 x 12.6 x 7.1 inches). When configured these drives have the ability to work with Disconnect and Contact Bypass packages per the customized specifications. The factory installed option includes limited optimized package configurations and also allows for wider need-based solutions. The drive has a door interlocked main input device with Class J fuse disconnect switch and a thermal magnetic molded case circuit breaker.

The AIC rating for direct connection to high capacity power distribution lines is 100,000 with fused disconnect and 65,000 with circuit breaker. The wire size ranges from 8 AWG to 16 AWG for the power terminal block. The VFD has built-in protection for ground faults while starting and running for reliable operation, electric motor overload to improve motor life and 6kV transient protection for durable performance. There are several options to add to the drive such as: A. IP30, NEMA/UL Type 1 kit which is field installed to convert the drive enclosure class rating, and B. Remote Human Interface Module (HIM) - Panel mount which is an LCD display for digital speed control.
