The unit is designed to be a plug-in module and it is used as a scanner and client which provides the capability to message explicitly to remote devices. The devices which can be scanned are PowerFlex drives, CompactBlock LDX, stack lights, and E1Plus overloads. The DeviceNet plug-in module also has status indicators. There are two types of status indicators available to the plug-in module which are a standard one DeviceNet green Light Emitting Diode (LED) and a standard DeviceNet red Light Emitting Diode (LED). The LED acts as indicators for the module status and network status. The indicators function with the following indications which are OFF, flashing Green, Green, Flashing red, and red. In terms of module status indicators, these mean No power, operational, Unit operational, minor fault, and unrecoverable fault respectively. For network status indicators, the indicators mean offline, idle, online, connection timeout, and critical link failure respectively. Along with the UDFBs, the module also has Autoscan to add in new attached nodes. The maximum amperage for the power supply to the module is 3 Amperes for a 1.5-meter wire.
